HOW THESE SERVICES BENEFIT BUSINESSES

Community Employment Services
Genesis Employment Services is a job placement service that specializes in matching people with disabilities with employment opportunities in the community. The objective of the multi-step program is to identify vocational interests, strengths and barriers; to learn job-seeking skills; to develop a support network of family, friends, and professionals; and to find and keep a job in the community. Supported Employment Services is provided in several phases.

Supported Employment staff will assist each client in obtaining employment in the community matching their interests, abilities, and needs. Individuals receive instruction in job-search techniques, appropriate interviewing skills and how to successfully maintain a job. The program prepares people for an active, independent job search.

Once a match is found, the new employee has the option of working with a job coach who supports him/her in learning his/her duties, tasks, work routine, work structure and work environment to become successful at their chosen work site. The job coach will also provide training and education to the consumer's employer to develop natural supports at the work site. The job coach remains on the job with the new employee until he or she can perform the job independently.

How These Services Benefit Businesses
Using Genesis Development Employment Services eliminates the need to place classified ads, screen applications, check references or arrange interviews. We match employment opportunities with people who have the ability and interest to perform the available job. All potential employees have participated in the service's pre-assessment process, which determines interests and abilities.
The service provides job coaching and follow-along support with no charge to the employer. This better enables the new employee to properly perform the job he or she was hired to do. This, in turn, reduces the need to rehire, retrain, and replace employees.

Genesis hires in compliance with the Equal Opportunity Affirmative Action and the Americans with Disabilites Act.
