WORK SERVICES
Genesis Work Services offers a variety of opportunities for individuals to improve their work skills. Emphasis is placed on assessing the current level of performance and providing structure and training. Using a team approach, the individual is assisted with basic work skills including attendance, promptness, safety, respect for property and appropriate personal hygiene.
Productivity is increased with attention to listening to and following directions, increasing performance with repetition of tasks, displaying initiative and attending to tasks. Interpersonal skills such as honesty, accepting correction and direction, requesting assistance and working with others are also developed.
Work is meaningful and provides the individual with a sense of pride and self-worth. Genesis produces custom made corrugated boxes for customers across the nation. A dedicated website, customboxesonline.com aids in the marketing of our boxes and packaging systems and has been very succcessful in promoting the sales of corrugated boxes.
There are recycling centers in Jefferson and Storm Lake that provide work opportunities. In addition, Genesis has numerous sub-contracts with various companies, such as Electrolux, Weise Corporation, Merrill Mfg., and PyroGraphics. These subcontracts include tasks such as packaging transmissions, sorting snap rings, packaging parts and repackaging coffee mugs.
