Genesis Work Services offers a variety of opportunities for individuals to improve their work skills. Emphasis is placed on assessing the current level of performance and providing structure and training. Using a team approach, the individual is assisted with basic work skills including attendance, promptness, safety, respect for property and appropriate personal hygiene.

Productivity is increased with attention to listening to and following directions, increasing performance with repetition of tasks, displaying initiative and attending to tasks. Interpersonal skills such as honesty, accepting correction and direction, requesting assistance and working with others are also developed.

Work is meaningful and provides the individual with a sense of pride and self-worth. Genesis produces custom made corrugated boxes for customers across the nation at the Jefferson location. A dedicated website, www.customboxesonline.com aids in the marketing of our boxes and packaging systems and has been very succcessful in promoting the sales of corrugated boxes.  At the Indianola site, a commercial laundry provides employement opportunities for those in the Warren County area.

Skills training and work opportunities are offered in a printing department at the Storm Lake site.  This operation performs the printing, assembly, and packaging of promotional items that are sold for advertising purposes throughout the United State and Canada. 

Recycling centers in Jefferson, Storm Lake and Boone provide work opportunities at those locations in addition to numerous sub-contracted work opportunities. Subcontracted work includes tasks such as packaging and repackaging, sorting, assembly, and confidential destruction.

On-site work crews are transported to contracted labor sites and work alongside that company's regular employees.  Jack Links Beef Jerky in Laurens, Iowa, Osmundson Manufacturing in Perry, Iowa, and Dickson Industries in Des Moines employ Genesis work crews.
